How working with us starts, runs and continues

Most work begins with a conversation and a clear question. From there we agree the kind of engagement that fits, how it is priced and what you will have at the end.

How a project starts

You talk directly to the engineer who would do the work, from the first conversation onwards.

  1. A first conversation

Get in touch about the problem or the opportunity. We talk it through and suggest a sensible next step, whether that is a review, a project or some focused advice. The first conversation is free.

  2. A focused review, if it helps

When a system or a goal is not yet well understood, a review comes first, so the scope rests on what the system actually needs.

  3. An agreed scope

Before work starts we agree the scope, the responsibilities on each side and how we will keep you involved in decisions.

Three ways to work with us

Choose the shape that fits the task. A review often leads to a project, and a project to ongoing care, but each stands on its own.

A focused review

Understand a system, assess a proposal or plan a migration. Agree a clear question and leave with practical recommendations.

  • Understanding an existing system
  • Architecture and delivery reviews
  • Migration and recovery planning
  • A scope for a delivery project

A delivery project

Design and build a product or improve an existing one, with an agreed scope, regular reviews and a documented handover.

  • Product design and development
  • Regular reviews of progress with you
  • Documentation of how the system is built and run
  • A documented handover

Ongoing support

Keep a product maintained or bring experienced technical leadership into your team. Agree responsibilities and availability together.

  • Maintenance and continued development
  • Hosting, monitoring and backups
  • Architecture and engineering management
  • Support for an engineering manager or team

Hosting with someone responsible

Your data is hosted in the UK, and everything we build is built in Sheffield. We can include hosting, monitoring, backups and maintenance in an agreed service. We run our platform for very high reliability and can meet agreed service levels (SLAs and SLOs) for your system; we agree targets with each client rather than publishing standard ones.

  • Run for very high reliability, with service levels agreed per client
  • Monitoring and backups
  • Ongoing maintenance
  • Incident investigation and recovery planning

Incident response and recovery work are scoped by agreement. Contact us to discuss availability and the support your system needs.
